As many as 500 goats are being distributed to poor families
Madin Academy here launched a unique animal farming programme as part of its Agro Space project.
Minister for Forests, Animal Husbandry and Zoos K. Raju inaugurated the scheme titled ‘Aadum Koodum’ on Madin campus on Sunday.
Mr. Raju said that the Madin programme would boost the government’s ongoing schemes in animal husbandry aimed at achieving self-reliance in milk production.
He said the Madin move would restore the confidence of the people to preserve natural resources and animal assets.
As many as 500 goats and their cages were being distributed to poor families in the Madin neighbourhood as part of the programme being implemented during the 20th anniversary year of the institution.
Madin Academy chairman Sayed Ibrahim Khaleel Bukhari presided over the function.
Mr. Raju gave away the Vicennium Awards of Excellence to Sayed Zainul Abid Thangal (Feroke), Thaj Mansur (Valiyad), Mohanan (Tanur), Shahul Hameed (Karekkad), M.K. Yusuf Ali (Karekkad), Noushad Melethodi (Vengara), Bhaskaran Kavungal (Malappuram), Mohammed
Abdurahman (Omanur) and Mujeeb Rahman (Alinchuvadu).
P. Ubaidulla, MLA, Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama district secretary Ibrahim Baqavi, and Aboobacker Saqafi were among those who spoke.
