Malappurm: Ma’din Academy signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dar al-Mustafa University, Tarim, Hadhramout, Yemen. Ma’din chairman Sayyid Ibrahimul Khaleelul Bukhari and Sheikh Habib Umar Bin Hafiz, the international Islamic scholar and founder and Dean of Dar al-Mustafa University has inked the mutual agreement at a function held in Dar al-Mustafa.
The agreement is for rendering mutual programmes in learning and training arenas as well as for starting joint research ventures on the centuries-old cultural relations between Indian and Yemen. “As far as Hadhramout is concerned, it is very important to establish a new connection in educational field with Kerala which is preserving its excellent tradition of unity in religious and cultural life”, said Sheikh Umar Bin Hafiz at the MoU ceremony. “Hadharamout is one of the most important centres of the real Islamic path which is based on humanity and the Ahlu Bait of the Prophet (descendants of the Prophet) and the scholars who reached the southern parts of India, especially to Kerala have preserved the same aesthetic tradition” said Ma’din chairman at the function. He also pointed out that about 30 families of prophet are said to have arrived at Kerala as part of Islamic Da’wah and their ceaseless efforts for religious harmony and mutuality have helped a great deal in the progress of the country.
Dar al- Mustafa University in Tarim, Yemen is an important centre of traditional Islamic learning. Students from more than 30 countries of the world pursue their learning at the university. Moreover, each year many researchers and students from all continents reach there for various learning purposes.
