Malappuram: Ma’din academy is all set to work with Zeng He International Peace foundation, for academic collaboration in the fields of Culture and History. An MoU was signed to this extend by Ma’din Chairman Sayyid Ibrahim Ul Khaleel Bukhari and Dr. HayunMaa, Director of Zeng He Foundation and Professor of the History Department at Fostberg University (USA). The historic moment for Ma’din took place at Swalath Nagar in the presence of Tourism Minister A.P Anil Kumar.

The MoU will facilitate cooperation and joint effort in research regarding Admiral Zeng He, the 15th century navigator and explorer who reached the shores of Kerala, and various other activities like Annual summit to strengthen the cultural ties between India and China, Offering Chinese Mandarin language courses under Ma’din foreign languages institute, Conducting informational study tours, Publishing research papers etc.

Admiral Zeng He who visited kerala 7 times  breathed his last at the port town of Calicut. There are different opinions about the resting place of his mortal remains among scholars though. A research will be undertaken by thoroughly studying historical records to bring out clarity in this matter. A global summit of researchers working on the topic will be organized by Ma’din Academy in India in 2017. Ma’din Academy will represent India in this year’s summit held at                           Abu Dhabi.

Tourism Minister A.P Anil Kumar termed the venture as a remarkable feat that  studies the legendary navigator who explored the shores of Kerala before Vasco da Gama and there by unraveling the relationship between two great civilizations of the world. He requested that Ma’din Academy’s engagement with Zeng He Foundations should pave the way for deeper understanding about the historical relationship between Kerala and China.

Ma’din Academy Chairman Sayyid Ibraheemul Khaleel Al Bukhri said that this was one of the most important International Research projects , among the many planned on the sidelines of  Vicennium, the 20th Anniversary Celebrations of Ma’din Academy.

The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Zeng He foundation representative and Senior Researcher, UAE Department of Culture , Mr. Zhajo Jin Chai , Ma’din’s representatives in various countries, viz, Kabeer Master (UAE), Salaam Pandikkad (Oman), SubairSa’adi (Sharjah), K.V Abdulla Haji (Qatar),  Star of Asia Muhammadali Haji , Abbas Panakkal, UmmerMelmuri, and Dr. AlassanKutti .
