‘Med-Hilfe’ mega medical camp, organized as a part of Vicennium Mahabbah Conference, to celebrate 20th Anniversary of Ma’din Academy was inaugurated by Honourable Tourism Minister of Kerala, Shri A.P Anil Kumar. ‘Med-Hilfe’ was coordinated under the aegis, Hospice Medical Care, a health care initiative under Ma’din Academy.

The minister pointed out that even though, the state is surging ahead in the field of medical health, there are still drawbacks and short comings in the sphere of public health. Thus intervention of social organisations like Ma’din Academy is very much imperative & necessary in public health. Ma’din Academy has set forth an example worth looking up, to those who work in the medical field, the minister stated.

The medical camp organized in close coordination with hospitals in and out of the state, viz, Government Medical College- Kozhikode, MES Medical College, KIMS Alshifa, KMCT Medical College catered to various medical conditions like Diabetes, Cancer, Heart, Kidney, ENT ,Skin, Dental, Community Medicine, Pediatrics etc. Medicines were distributed in the camp for more than 2000 patients, free of charge. Eye patients recommended for advanced treatment by doctors were taken to Coimbatore Arvind Hospital, in a specially arranged vehicle as a part of the camp. 35 patients were provided with free cataract surgery in Coimbatore.

Eminent Scholar Dr.Shu’ayb Eric Winkel was the chief guest for the occasion. Ma’din chairman Sayyid Ibrahimul Khaleelul Bukhaari presided over the event. Dr. Winkel , remarkably pointed out that the average life expectancy in USA , which spends almost 20,000 US Dollars on an average, on each of citizen is 76. However, the average life expectancy of kerala is an impressive 74 ,even after spending only a tenth of what USA spends on health care. He attributed this remarkable achievement to Ayurvedic traditions and aesthetic life style of people in Kerala. He described it as a ‘Kerala Miracle’ of Medical Science.

District Medical Officer Dr. Ummarul Farooque, Dr. E N Abdul Lateef, Malappuram Municipal Vice Chairman, Municipal Councilors E.K Moideen, JaleelKonompara, Ma’din Dawa College Principal Ibrahim Baakhavi Melmuri, Abdul Jaleel Saqqafi Kadalundi, Ibrahim Koduvalli, Rayin Kutti haji, and other dignitaries were present.
